 Thursdays 5:45-6:45

Beginning Tribal and Tribal Fusion

This beginning Tribal and Tribal Fusion Class focuses on core movement vocabulary, gaining a working knowledge of American Tribal Style Bellydance vocabulary, and exploration of fusion bellydance styles. Moves are broken down and drilled for maximum retention.

Thursdays 6:45-7:45

Intermediate Tribal and Tribal Fusion

This Tribal and Tribal Fusion Class focuses on more complex Tribal Combinations, Fusion Combinations and Choreographies. There are quarterly performance opportunities with Tayissa Studnet Troupe, Aurora Blue. Additionally, costuming and make up instruction are presented for interested students. Students are encouraged to express their personal interests in shaping the direction of the class.

Classes are held at the Abyssinian Dance Center in Burien.
Classes are $12/drop in, 5 punch cards for $50 or 10 punch for $90. As an added benefit, if you buy a class card, you can use punches at any class taught at Abyssinian Dance Center.

 ~Private Lessons

Classes are typically 1 to 1 1/2 hours and include a brief yoga stretch, drills, and focus on studen specific goals. Classes combine drills of basic movements with combination and layering techniques to not only reinforce muscle memory but to also achieve the straightening and toning of muscles. Short choreographies and training in improvisation style dancing are emphasized. Tayissa believes in tailoring classes to the students, modifying terminology and style to meet the needs of every student. Because break downs of movements are essential, emphasis on technique and healthy posture are taught.
