Fremont Solstice Parade
The Fremont Solstice Parade is right around the corner and this year I am going to be leading a tribal section of belly dancers within Delilah’s famous Parade March. It is going to be lots of fun and many of us, myself included, will be challenged to coming up with cool tribal gear in fuchsia and bold pink colors! I will be looking to Kajira of Black Sheep Bellydance for inspiration on this one.
The theme this year is “Women for Peace” exploring the power that we have as diplomats and pioneers of freedom within our society and those abroad. Thursday May 1 there will be an initial meeting to chat about the theme, costuming and any other questions people may have about the parade. Please feel free to drop by and say hello. You will get a sneak peek at my first pink costume ever! If you can’t make the meeting, that’s fine also. My classes will start Tuesday May 6 at 7pm
Classes and the Meeting will take place at:
7:00pm
VDP Studio
4128 Fremont Ave N Seattle, Wa 98103
(206) 632-2353
Also, if you want to support the parade but aren’t interested in dancing we need drummers too! Eric teaches the parade rhythms for free! It’s a lot of fun and a great opportunity to work on your drumming with a very experienced musician.
